English Learn to Ride Program

The new Equine Canada Learn to Ride Level 1-10 program was developed for individuals who wish to learn safe horsemanship and practices. The purpose of this program is to produce safe and knowledgeable horse people and to assist in the development of future instructors and coaches.

The Rider Level 1-10 program is a national program with national standards that rewards all riders, recreational to competitive, for advancing their learning with Certificates of Achievement. This program provides riders and coaches with an attainable progression throughout the rider level framework. In addition, it encourages all riders to ride, learn and enjoy the sport of riding while providing guidelines to coaches and instructors.

Not sure if you want to jump? Don't worry. Riders now have the option at Rider Level 3 to either complete the full riding phase or just the flat portion of the certification. This option is continued for Rider Levels 4 through 8 and into the Instructor of Beginner coach certification. Riders and coaches following this stream will be recognize as "flat only" certified. However, one may change their mind and be tested on the jumping portion whenever they are ready.
